We are looking for a Global Corporate Controller for one of our clients in the chemical manufacturing industry in Houston, TX.
Reporting to the CFO, the Global Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all
accounting functions for divisions primarily located in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, manage and monitor critical accounting and reporting policies, processesand associated metrics.
- Oversees the overall day-to-day accounting process for the organization.
- Manages the global monthly close process, including budget to actual variance analysis and preparation of the monthly financial reporting and quarterly compliance packages.
- Supervises the Global accounting team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and Global Treasurer.
- Supervises full-cycle accounts payable, including reviewing and validating all disbursements Manage external auditor relationships to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timelyand efficient manner.
- Lead revenue reporting processes, reconciliation and controls.
- Work closely with management team, set standards and drive compliance across the entire organization.
- Creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
- Lead a small team of accountants and accounts payable analysts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA certification.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience required, including the management of an accounting team.
- International accounting experience. Experience with the United Kingdom and Germany a plus.
- M&A experience, including post-acquisition integration experience a plus.
- Experience implementing, utilizing and optimizing SAP systems a must.
- Ability to lead, supervise and guide a team in a faced paced environment.
- Must have the highest standard for integrity, accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products; advanced knowledge of Excel (Macros, Pivot Tables etc.). Ability to design reports which present information in a concise manner for use by top management in decision making.
- Strong technical and practical knowledge of GAAP accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and highly driven; excellent time management skills.
- Exposure to computerized interchange systems (ACH, Online Merchant Banking applications)
- Experience with corporate tax filings and reporting.
