Technical Services Veterinarian

On behalf of the French-American Chamber of Commerce, we are hiring a Technical Services Veterinarian in Eastern Canada for our client, a global animal health pharmaceutical company specializing in dental care, medicine, and supplements for dogs, cats, and ferrets in the United States. They offer innovative solutions to veterinarians, farmers, and animal owners in over 100 countries worldwide. Core Responsibility: Provide technical support to Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) and customers.

  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to plan and execute technical support activities to boost sales.
  • Support TSMs during sales calls and customer interactions, both virtually and in person.
  • Serve as a technical resource on products for TSMs and customers.
  • Partner with the Veterinary Technical Services (VTS) team to create and update training sessions and educational platforms for TSMs.
  • Write technical communications and participate in sales or training meetings as needed.
  • TSMs may engage with veterinary customers in English or French.

Expected Outcome: Ensure TSMs receive adequate technical support and training to enhance their sales capabilities.

Main Focus: Support sales to general practice veterinarians in English and French.

  • Build relationships with key clinics and veterinarians through TSMs.
  • Address inquiries about products and provide case consultations.
  • Recommend product usage and assist in planning and presenting seminars and meetings.
  • Support key accounts with presentations and visit key customers as needed.

Expected Outcome: Establish the company as a trusted source of information for general practice veterinarians.

Strategic Objective: Strengthen relationships with Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

  • Plan activities with TSMs to build relationships with Specialists and KOLs.
  • Keep them updated on new products and collaborate on webinars.
  • Provide feedback to marketing and build connections with veterinary schools.
  • Manage KOL-directed business programs.

Expected Outcome: Enhance support and advocacy for products among Specialists and KOLs.

Critical Task: Oversee pharmacovigilance.

  • Work with the Product Safety and Consulting team to handle reports of product issues or adverse events.
  • Act as a liaison for French-speaking veterinary customers in approximately 100 cases annually.
  • Consult with veterinarians on case management as needed.

Expected Outcome: Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.

Support Role: Collaborate with internal departments.

  • Provide technical support to Business, Sales, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Commercial Operations.
  • Assist in launching new products and collaborative projects.
  • Serve as the technical resource for all products and disease categories.
  • Review and translate documents from English to French and assist with the Emergency Drug Release Program.

Expected Outcome: Strengthen the company’s image and support technically sound projects across departments.

Requirements:

  • DVM with a license in the province of residence and able to practice veterinary medicine in Canada
  • MUST be strongly bilingual in French and English, able to speak/present and write in both languages
  • MUST reside in Quebec or Eastern Ontario
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience in a small animal clinic
  • Additional experience in technical services with small animal-focused animal health products considered a asset, but NOT a requirement
  • Strong communication skills and must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience and in a professional manner
  • Must be able to coach and provide feedback about technical knowledge and effective. communication process skills (ex. Calgary Cambridge Guide)
